Assists women studying a programme which incurs expenses (e.g. travel, accommodation, childcare) related to compulsory placements or block courses.
Please note that funding for clothing purchases is not available through this scholarship.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:
- Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
- Be enrolled in a programme which is eligible for this scholarship
- Be a woman (assigned female at birth and/or self-identify as female)
- Not be receiving wages or any other payment in lieu of work carried out as part of your placement

Eligible Programmes
Any Level 5 or above programme where there are expenses related to compulsory placements or block courses that are not covered by course fees.
How to Apply
- Please submit an application form (click on the application form button below).
- Provide a personal statement to reflect the special circumstances that make you a candidate for this scholarship i.e., provide details of how this financial assistance will support you to achieve your goals.
- Please include evidence of all expected costs related to your placement, e.g., travel, accommodation, childcare, etc.
- Provide two referee reports, which comment on your ability to succeed in this programme and attest to your character. One referee report must be from an Ara tutor. (Please use the templates provided below).
- Provide evidence of department support from your Programme Leader (click on the Department Endorsement button below.)
