Idoia Alday Gonzalez
Idoia.AldayGonzalez@ara.ac.nz
YES Canterbury Coordinator (on sabbatical leave until 10th February 2025)

Originally from Spain, Idoia travelled and worked around the world for eight years before settling in New Zealand in 2008. Her passion has always been supporting youth to identify their strengths and reach their full potential. She has pursued this passion at Ara Institute of Canterbury since 2012 in various roles.

Since 2017, Idoia has coordinated the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) in the Canterbury region. This programme ignites her passion and dedication. Students, teachers, alumni, colleagues, volunteers and businesses involved in the scheme have become what Idoia fondly calls her "YES whānau”.

YES Canterbury Coordinator (Acting)

Annie is an alumni of the Young Enterprise Scheme, having participated in the programme in 2022 while attending Kaiapoi High School. Her involvement with the scheme ignited her passion for youth empowerment and supporting young individuals in achieving greatness through entrepreneurship.

The hands-on learning approach fostered by the Young Enterprise Scheme sparked Annie's love for business, and her current role fulfils her desire to help other young people uncover their entrepreneurial passions and aspirations. Outside of work, Annie finds joy in creative pursuits with a love for singing and songwriting.
