The hospitality and tourism industry offers exciting career opportunities in New Zealand and internationally. Training in this area will set you up with flexible, transferable skills that are in demand all around the globe.
You could work front of house or in the kitchen of a range of hospitality establishments including restaurants, outside catering operations, cafes, on cruise ships or in fast food outlets. Further study could steer you into roles including bar manager, restaurant supervisor and hotel head of department.
When you study Hospitality Management at Ara, you'll enjoy using first class training facilities which include five kitchens, a fully equipped training bar, a reception training area, a hotel suite and our Visions on Campus licensed training restaurant.
We have a close relationship with a number of international hospitality providers, such as the International College of Hotel Management (IHCM) in Adelaide. Staff and students have the opportunity to gain valuable international experience as a result of these partnerships.
In addition to comprehensive programmes at certificate and diploma levels, we also offer short courses and industry training.
Graduates of the National Diploma in Hospitality Management can continue their studies at Ara to gain a Bachelor of Applied Management. Our graduates can be found in operational and supervisory roles in hospitality establishments around the world.
